King Abdulaziz University achieved distinguished results at the 2025 Inter-College Environmental Public Speaking Competition, organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) and hosted at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai, with wide academic participation from across the region.

The competition featured four environmental categories, where student teams from regional universities presented on key sustainability topics. Each institution was allowed to compete in multiple categories, and the top three teams in each were recognized.

KAU was proudly represented by two all-female student teams:

            •           The first team won First Runner-Up in the category “The Impact of Cosmetics and the Fashion Industry on Environmental, Social, and Economic Footprints.”

Members included:

            •           Farah Yahya (Digital Media – Faculty of Communication and Media)

            •           Ghadi Al-Otaibi (Audiovisual Production - Faculty of Communication and Media)

            •           Wasan Al-Zahrani (Public Relations - Faculty of Communication and Media)

            •           The second team earned Second Runner-Up in the category “Sustainable Thinking: How Artificial Intelligence Impacts Environmental Solutions.”

Team members were:

            •           Ruaa Al-Zubaidi (Information Technology - Faculty of Computing)

            •           Shahad Al-Harithi (Physics – Faculty of Science)

            •           Dana Al-Harithi (Information Technology - Faculty of Computing)

 

These achievements reflect the university’s commitment to empowering students in environmental discourse and fostering global academic engagement.
