Abstract : This study involved fourteen Juvenile Baboon monkeys (Papio hamadryas). The monkeys were divided equally into two groups. Group one received anteriorly bite jumping functional appliance and group two did not. All animals received low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) treatment to one side (left) of their mandibular condyles while the other (right) condyles served as self control. After four months of ultrasound treatment, all animals were sacrificed by perfusion with neutral buffered formalin, the mandibles were dissected and fixed in 10% neutral buffered formalin for two weeks. The mandibles were then sectioned into two halves at the midline of the mandible, and were radiographed, traced and measured for different anthropometric measurements. The mandibular condyles were harvested and processed for examination by light microscopic examination. Image cytometric analysis was performed on some sections and the rest will be processed upon receiving the rest of the fund. Anthropometric and histological examination of the preliminary data showed that ultrasound, when combined with anteriorly bite jumping functional appliances, produces the best results in modifying the growth of the mandible
