Abstract : Residential areas are randomized to be part of the geography of the Arab city and the city is almost devoid of the urban spread of the excretion, which resulted in several social and economic factors in the absence of comprehensive master plans for the development of the Arab city. And the city of Jeddah, Arab cities which suffer from endemic phenomenon of slums within the physical fabric of the modern problem of an obstacle to the fruitful efforts of the State over the provision of public services and a healthy environment for the general population of the city. This study aims to identify the phenomenon of squatter areas through the identification of geographic features and analysis of structural components and their spatial distribution on the map of Jeddah. And also provide a comparative study of this phenomenon to other local cities and the Arab World. And the study found by reading the map of slums and the interpretation of aerial photographs in the city of Jeddah to distinguish two types Pinyin for the spread of this phenomenon, each representing a clear model describes the growth and distribution of slums in the city of Jeddah. And show that the geographical distribution follows the pattern of his writing and communication lines as well as appear on the semi-rings around the old city, and not random at all, as you might think of the term of the label.
