Foreword

May praise be to God, and prayer and peace be upon the Seal of the Prophets and his family and companions, and after. The Endowment has a memorable role in the history of Islamic civilization, where it was the basis of scientific renaissance, while providing for scientists and science students a stable environment, and ensuring their sustainable resource which allowed Muslim Scholars some freedom of research to dedicate time to the scientific output, which resulted in this rich heritage of knowledge in various areas. It is no secret that our nation badly needs, now, to revive the important role of the financing of Islamic civilization-constructive projects again, particularly scientific research and technological development.
King Abdulaziz University, including its weight and the elements of academic excellence seeking to shift to be a research University. Providing a basic ground of scientific research needs large allocations of money for the establishment of a specialized library in scientific research based on regular communication techniques with the specialized database in various scientific fields or providing plants with the latest appliances and scientific equipment.

To meet this great challenge, Scientific Endowment to Support King Abdulaziz University Research was established in areas related to the environment of Haj and Umrah, and researches that serve the community and address its problems. We are confident that the goodness of this nation is until the Day of Resurrection. A nation is ordered to do the good as Allah said (Then strive together towards all that is good); Surat Al Baqara 148. At the top of charity is the expenditure on scientific research which is the hope of the nation's progress and development. And ratified the Messenger of Allah (prayer and peace be upon Him), when he said: « people do not give charity such as knowledge to be spread» (narrated by Tabarani by Samra bin Jundob) As the Imam Abdullah Al Mubarak said: (I do not know (anything) better, after the prophecy, than spreading of knowledge).
