Saudi Endowment

 

King Abdul  Aziz, may Almighty God's mercy be upon him, known for various good deeds, including full care of endowment in the country of Saudi Arabia.
• He was also known for his great care to build mosques and the related matters in general, care for the Two Holy Mosques and their affairs in particular.
• The attention of King Abdul Aziz, may mercy be upon him, regarding endowment was so close. Since the founding of Saudi Arabia and the consolidation of its parts. Endowments have been at the forefront of his concerns, where he assigned the judges in each region to oversee the Endowment.
•He reorganized the endowments in Hijaz, and ordered the establishment of the Department of Endowments in Makka, as well as the Medina and Jeddah.
• The care, organization and attention for endowments in the kingdom continued until the establishment of the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Endowments in 1381 h., and then an independent ministry allocated to the Hajj in 1414 h. as well as a Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Advocacy and Guidance.

  

The Most Important of Endowments in Saudi Arabia since Foundation

1 – Foundation and establishment of endowment libraries and endowment the manuscript books, and printing, publishing and distributing books to legal endowment.
2 – Endowments of Sowltiyah School in Makka since 1285 h. and after that the year 1289 h. and then in 1290 h., 1291 h., 1293 h., 1302 h.
3 – Endowments of Al Falah schools in Jeddah in 1323 h. and then in Makka in 1330 h.
4 - Endowments of Religious Sciences school in Madina since 1348 h.
5 - Organization and enlargement of Endowments of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as the generous spending since the age of King Abdul Aziz, may God's mercy be on him, to the reign of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, God save him.
6 – Endowment Aziziya Fountain established by King Abdulaziz Al-Saud, may Allah have mercy on him, where he bought fountains in the Valley of Fatima and ran it to Jeddah and endowed it and formed a Department specialized in accommodation of pilgrims at the airport and seaport.
7 – The House of King Abdul Aziz in Riyadh, a cultural institution founded in 1392 h. / 1972, in commemoration of the King Abdul Aziz, God's mercy be on him,, and the aim of its establishment was to service the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, geography, and intellectual effects in particular, and the history of Arabs and Muslims in general, as well as support scientific research and studies and intellectual heritage.
8 - King Fahd Complex for printing the Holy Quran in Madina has started its mission in Safar 1405 h. / October 1984 and is one of the largest and greatest printing complexes in the world.
9 - King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh, established in 1405 h. / 1984 at the expense of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, God save him, and he opened it when he was a Crown Prince on 10/7/1408 h.
10 - King Faisal Charity Foundation established on 19/5/1396 h. 18 May, 1976, and its head office in Riyadh, a known charitable, scientific and research foundation.
11 - Prince Sultan Charity Foundation.
12 - Al Anoud Charity Foundation.
13 - Al Rajhi Charity Foundation.
14 - Abdul Rahman Al-Sudairy Charity Foundation in Al Jouf.
15 - Abdul-Aziz bin Baz Charity Foundation.
16 – Health Endowment Fund in Saudi Arabia.
17 - Mother of Prince Thamer bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Charity Foundation.

There are many endowment projects and foundations, all dedicated to care for the poor, orphans and the infirm, the disabled and the vulnerable in general, as well as health care, education, advocacy and scientific research and Islamic studies and public and private libraries, even it is true that there is a great endowment awakening or rise in Saudi Arabia has emerged since the beginning of the Hijri fifth century.

Other Endowments in Saudi Arabia:

    - Endowment of Business Oasis (Wahat Ala'mal) in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.
    - Endowment of Tibah Oasis (Wahat Tibah) in Madina.
    - Sheikh Saleh Al-Sairafi Endowment in Makka.
    - Endowment of residential buildings in Jeddah and Makka to support the work of the Association.
5 - Endowment of Building Aziziya which was endowed by Prince Salman bins Abdul Aziz to the Assembly (Prince Salman Social Center) in Riyadh.
6 – Endowments of (King Khalid Charitable Foundation) in and outside the Kingdom to support charitable work and education and health.
7 - Fund of Health Endowment
(Which is subordinate to Prince Sultan Charitable Foundation) 26 Muharram, 1429 h. /2008.

 
Its functions have been specified as follows:
   - Provision of free health care for the poor and needy at a standard level.
   - The provision of preventive services and treatment for all.
   - The financing of medical research and projects of development of means of treatment, rehabilitation and medical training.
8 - The Educational Charity Endowment in Britain, which is Subordinate to Muslim World League, founded in August 1984 / 1405 h.
9  – Charitable Society of Friends of the Community
10 – World Award of Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the and Prophetic Sunna and Contemporary Islamic Studies 2005 / 1425 h.
