KAU Endowment Benefactors and Donors Honoured

 

A reception was held by King Abdulaziz University Research Endowment Fund on Tuesday 11th October 2011 at King Faisal Convention Centre in recognition of benefactors and donors to KAU research endowment.

KAU President, HE Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, stressed the pivotal role of research endowment in scientific research, pointing out that KAU was established by philanthropy.

Dr Issam H. Kawthar, Executive Director of the KAU Research Endowment, gave a speech to highlight the objectives and achievements of the Fund and its services to the community.

According to him, KAU research endowment, the first of its kind in the Middle East, was initiated six years ago under the auspices of the late Prince Abdelmajid ibn Abdulaziz, former Makkah Al-Mukarrama governor.

He also said that the Fund was seeking to support a wider range of academic disciplines, including research on the causes and preventative remedy of spinsterhood.

He also revealed that an ideal driver prize would be introduced by the Fund to encourage motorists to drive safely.

A new endowment bank and an institution to render a measure of public opinion will also be established, according to him.
